1. UPDATE: TAGLaw LETTER GAINS ATTENTION OF THE KREMLIN AND THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA
According to a stories in the August 27, 2010 editions of The Moscow Times and the Telegraph (a top UK news publication), the letter sent by TIAG’s sister legal network, TAGLaw, in July to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has gained attention. The size and global reach of the network has added weight to our words and hopefully we have aided Jamison Firestone's efforts on behalf of his late partner, Sergei Magnitsky. Jamison noted that in addition to The Moscow Times (Russia's main English language newspaper), the story was picked up in over 10 Russian language publications. 2. TAG FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS IN PAKISTAN
The Appleton Group is proud to announce the establishment of the TAG Foundation. Those of you who joined us in Amsterdam were the first to receive information on TAG Foundation, an initiative in which all of our members can be proud to participate. The TAG Foundation now stands at $10,000 with donations from a handful of members and from The Appleton Group. The Foundation has identified Pakistan as an area in need of its support, and the Foundation's Advisors will assist in choosing charities that will ensure that donations are administered directly to those affected by the devastating floods. If you want to be able to “flip the keys” to the next generation you must continuously develop the appropriate skills at every level within your firm. And that doesn’t happen overnight. It requires establishing and implementing best practices that support learning and development, merely signing your people up for skills-based training is not going to cut it!
