As we head toward the end of the calendar year, we write to provide a short update on matters of note.

 

 

Our continued thanks to those of you who have contributed to TAG Foundation.  We have received donations recently from members who are doing their year-end "tax planning" and if there are others who have not yet completed their charitable giving, please consider the Foundation.

 

 

Please be on the lookout for a special treat, courtesy of our friends at Mercer & Hole, TIAG member firm in London, England.  They have produced a wonderful 2011 calendar that is a tribute to TIAG and TAGLaw and especially to those professionals around the world with whom Mercer & Hole has worked closely.  We know that you will enjoy it.

 

 

Many of you are aware that a report on membership gains and losses is provided to our Advisory Board, and to all attendees, as part of our presentations at our international conferences. While this was done in Toronto in October, not all of you were present and there have been developments. 

 

Attached is our latest update.  We are proud of the continued growth of the networks.

 

There are, of course, ongoing discussions with potential member firms in multiple jurisdictions around the world; we have a UK-based firm joining in January and we expect an application shortly from a firm in the U.S.

 

 

Also attached is an article I wrote on the subject of accounting associations that was published in November's issue of the CCH Practice Management Forum.

 

 

While more will be said in our Annual Review, due to be distributed in February, we look back at 2010 with satisfaction.  We experienced growth in both networks, enjoyed meeting with you at two excellent international conferences, and continued to witness the steady development of business relationships among all of you.

 

Please save the dates of May 9-11, 2011 for the next conference, in Geneva.  Registration information will be sent next month.
