1. TAG FOUNDATION: NEW ZEALAND
Recent news has shown the devastation caused by the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. News from Bruno Bordignon and Chris Bradley of Duncan Cotterill, our TAGLaw member there tells a heartrending story of destruction, including the loss of homes by the staff of Duncan Cotterill. Last time a TIAG or TAGLaw member was so directly affected was when Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on New Orleans and surrounding areas and our TAGLaw member Milling Benson and their staff were displaced. At that time TIAG and TAGLaw members from around the world donated funds to help both the non-professional staff of Milling Benson and also to assist others in the vicinity. Please consider contributing to the TAG Foundation so that we can be prepared to assist our member firm and others in New Zealand as we learn the extent of the damage and understand where our assistance can provide the most benefit. Our TAG Foundation board and advisors from TIAG and TAGLaw will help us choose the most effective way to help those in need.

Information on how to contribute to the TAG Foundation can be found on the attached pledge form.

The TAG Foundation has been approved as exempt from taxation under §501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. We are in the process of seeking similar exempt status in Europe. (Florida Registration #CH32002)

SESSION SPOTLIGHT
The Paperless Office: Streamlining Business Processes and Reducing Administrative and Storage Costs
Tim Cowell; Co-Founder; Infonic
Imagine a world where you can "call up documents from files on the screen, or by pressing a button," or get "mail or any messages" from a "TV-display terminal with keyboard." These were the thoughts—in 1975—of George E. Pake, the head of Xerox Corporation's Palo Alto Research Center. Thirty-six years later global paper use is finally in decline, falling at a rate of 1% per annum. This is due in part to the growing adoption of document management and paper reduction technologies. There is a widely-held opinion that a paperless office is a Holy Grail and difficult to achieve. This presentation will explain how an organization can quickly and cost efficiently start the journey toward a paperless office. 5. BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Uruguay: Development of Plant for Re-Gasification of Liquid Natural Gas
The State-owned energy companies of Argentina and Uruguay  -- Energía Argentina S.A. (“ENARSA” - Argentina), Administración de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland (“ANCAP” - Uruguay) and Administración de Usinas Eléctricas del Estado (“UTE” - Uruguay), are trying to identify energy companies interested in developing a re-gasification plant of liquefied natural gas ("gas natural licuado" or “GNL”) in Uruguay.  The plant would be a floating one, located 8 miles of the Uruguayan coast.  The project is scheduled to inject around 15 million cubical meters of natural gas between the two countries (Uruguay and Argentina) over the first fifteen years. Total investment is estimated in the figure of US$ 400 million.

Under the timetable proposed by the State-owned energy companies conducting the process, it is expected to call for an international public bid (to award the project) during the second semester of 2011, once the expressions of interest have been submitted.  It is contemplated that the plant would become operative in the course of 2013.

Interested companies are required to express their interest by submitting  their background credentials, no later than April 11, 2011 to Jonas Bergstein of Estudio Bergstein (Uruguay - TAGLaw) at jbergstein@bergsteinlaw.com
