SESSION SPOTLIGHT: “Brazil: The New Big Economy”
U.S. Ambassador Patrick Duddy; former U.S. Ambassador of Venezuela; former U.S. Chargé d'Affaires, U.S. Embassy, Brasilia; former U.S. Consul General in São Paulo
Brazil's economy outweighs that of all other South American countries, and the country is expanding its presence in world markets. It was one of the first emerging markets to recover from the 2009 recession and its strong growth and high interest rates make it an attractive destination for foreign investors. Large capital inflows over the past year have contributed to the rapid appreciation of its currency and led the government to raise taxes on some foreign investments. Ambassador Duddy, with his extensive experience in Brazil and the Latin American region will discuss Brazil's current and future role in the World economy. Click here for a detailed conference agenda to view other sessions.
*The early bird conference registration discount expires on September 9, 2011. After September 9, 2011, the registration cost increases, and we cannot guarantee that your information will appear in the conference program.
