Internal Controls: Best Practices for Cost-Effective Auditing
Thursday, December 15, 2011
Auditors used to be able to opt out of examining internal controls prior to the issuance of the risk-based standards. Those standards increased the scrutiny of this critical part of the audit process to the point that auditors are beginning to wonder if their efforts are resulting in extra work for little in the way of return. But it doesn't have to be that way. In this two-hour CPE program, experienced auditor and instructor, Alan Anderson, CPA, takes a close look at the questions many auditors are asking and sharpens those questions through a planning process that makes sure internal control work seeks answers in the places most likely to yield them.
In this presentation, Anderson will focus on the practical aspects of planning, documentation and procedures that will help auditors spend their time effectively in consideration of internal controls without spinning their wheels on areas that are of no risk. Key to the discussion will be pre-audit procedures that will allow auditors to do an effective walkthrough process. There will also be time set-aside during the presentation for Anderson to address participant questions sent via e-mail during the program. Don't miss the opportunity to boost the cost-effectiveness of your audits from one of the leading experts in the U.S.! Click here to learn more and register.
